Babson College in Massachusetts seeks a Senior Financial Aid Loan Specialist to plan, publicize, and manage loan policies and implementations for federal, state, institutional, and private loans. You will be the primary contact for students and parents, guiding borrowing decisions and ensuring timely packaging of merit scholarships and loans.

You will certify and manage Federal Direct Loans, coordinate with offices like Student Accounts, and oversee COD processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4–6 years of related experience including knowledge of financial aid regulations.
• Customer-oriented, technology-intensive environment experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal, advising and negotiation abilities.
• Attention to detail and compliance requirements.
• Ability to envision and propose new methods, take thoughtful risks.
• Willingness to adapt to change and learn new skills.
• Strong technical and analytical skills for personalized financial counseling.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary contact for students and parents seeking financing options for all college expenses.
• Guide merit scholarships and all approved student loans to be packaged timely.
• Advise borrowers on how much to borrow for private, federal, and parent loans.
• Certify and process federal and private loans; coordinate with Student Accounts and Financial Services.
• Administer the Federal Direct Loan program, origination and disbursement, monthly reconciliation.
• Manage private loan origination and changes, communicating with lenders as needed.
• Monitor and track internal and external loan change requests.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to loans; train team members.
• Assist with debt counseling workshops and loan entrance/exit counseling.
• Liaise with lenders, servicers, and guarantors; perform annual RFI for private loan options.
