About Us:

Headquartered in Los Angeles, with operations in New York, Chicago, Miami, Toronto, Paris, Berlin, Jerusalem, and Buenos Aires. The Center is an accredited NGO at the United Nations, UNESCO, and other international bodies, maintaining relationships with governments worldwide.

Founded in 1993, the Center opened the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, which serves as its educational arm to confront bigotry and racism, and to promote understanding of the Holocaust in historical and contemporary contexts. The Center also produces documentaries through Moriah Media, including two Oscar-winning films.

Qualifications

About the Position:

The Director of Field Education - East oversees educational initiatives in New York City and Long Island, aligning with the Center’s mission to combat hate, promote empathy, and foster understanding through impactful programming. The role emphasizes strategic leadership, program growth, and operational excellence, managing initiatives like the Combat Hate Fellowship, Mobile Museum of Tolerance, and the Next Generation Leaders Internship Program. A key focus (30%) involves collaborating with the Content and Learning team to develop culturally responsive curricula. The Director will also lead stakeholder engagement, staff mentoring, and ensure grant deliverables are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement field education programs for the Eastern Division, including Combat Hate and MMOT initiatives.
  • Scale programs in line with grants and organizational goals.
  • Develop new initiatives, ensuring their success and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with the Content and Learning team to develop and assess curricula.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes for effectiveness and improvement.
Leadership and Team Development
  • Mentor and manage program staff, providing professional development and training.
  • Foster a culture of shared learning and support among regional managers.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships
  • Build relationships with community partners, educators, and organizational leaders.
  • Represent the Eastern Division at conferences and forums.
Program Expansion and Innovation
  • Test and evaluate new educational materials and models.
  • Identify strategies for growth and engagement.
  • Develop innovative learning experiences.
Compliance, Reporting, and Grant Management
  • Ensure program compliance and quality standards.
  • Manage grants, budgets, and funding requirements.
  • Prepare reports on program performance and impact.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of leadership in education, nonprofit management, or related fields.
  • Experience in program development, scaling initiatives, and curriculum design.
  • Strong communication, partnership-building, and grant management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with virtual/hybrid learning technologies like Zoom and Canvas.
