Our client is a leading innovator in medical device technologies, specializing in advanced fluid management solutions for the treatment and management of liver disease. Our mission is to improve patient outcomes and quality of life through cutting-edge devices, education, and clinical support. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Medical Education Manager to join a fast-growing start-up aiming to create better patient care and disrupt a $2B+ global hepatology market.

The Medical Education Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive educational programs for healthcare professionals, sales teams, and internal stakeholders. This individual will collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Clinical, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure consistent, evidence-based education regarding our fluid management solutions for liver disease. The role requires strategic vision, hands-on execution, and strong collaboration with key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinical partners, and industry organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Guide a team of Clinical Specialists (CS). Coordinate and ensure effective coverage of accounts, proper device implantation techniques, and customer support.
  2. Implement a train-the-trainer program for proctors and Clinical Specialists.
  3. Manage scheduling of all implant training events and ensure appropriate inventory of products and resources at training/research sites, with adequate stock at CSs in the region.
  4. Manage the selection and opening of new implant centers.
  5. Provide clinical and technical support to physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals on company products.
  6. Report feedback regarding pump performance, clinical experience, and patient safety through appropriate channels.
  7. Stay informed about regulatory changes or hospital protocols impacting our technology.

Key Requirements

  1. Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and develop expert-level training programs for internal staff and HCPs.
  2. Create training materials for ongoing clinical education.
  3. Develop and implement a tracking system to demonstrate ROI on training efforts.
  4. Monitor clinical performance outcomes and work with commercial teams to execute medical education initiatives.
  5. Build relationships with KOLs to support education programs and marketing activities.
  6. Evaluate training effectiveness and seek continuous improvement opportunities.
  7. Create and manage job aids, training content, presentations, and videos.
  8. Oversee the development of educational content for all training modules.
  9. Identify and manage external vendors.
  10. Position may require up to 20% travel.
  11. Support the commercial team with virtual and in-person training cases.
  12. Develop targeted lesson plans for in-person and online training, incorporating innovative methods like e-learning and virtual modules.
  13. Employ diverse presentation activities to cater to different learning styles.
  14. Maintain high communication levels with commercial teams regarding training needs and field activities.

Required Education/Experience

  1. Experience in developing and implementing training for complex technologies, preferably in Medical Devices or related fields.
  2. 5-7 years of experience in health education.
  3. Strong communication, presentation, and written skills.
  4. Project management, collaboration, attention to detail, and time/budget management skills.
  5. Experience working across functional teams.
