Job summary

Cottonwood Tucson, Inc. is seeking a Director of Plant Operations to lead the maintenance and safety programs for the facility in Tucson, AZ.

This role oversees the physical environment, strives for regulatory compliance, and coordinates with leadership to maintain high safety and cleanliness standards. The Director will supervise staff, manage budgets, and ensure timely completion of maintenance projects while coordinating with outside vendors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or technical field preferred; two or more years college level construction trade education may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Five or more years’ experience in maintenance or facility operations required; healthcare facility experience preferred.
• Knowledge of standard and safe maintenance practices, procedures, and tools in the general building/maintenance trades.
• Certification or licensure in trade such as electrical, plumbing or HVAC preferred; CHFM certification will be a plus.
• Valid state driver’s license required (if required by state and facility). CPR and de-escalation training may be required; First aid may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees overall facility maintenance including safety, security, maintenance, facilities and related operations.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, CDC, CARF, TJC and other regulatory requirements.
• Manages housekeeping, plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, electrical work and other trades as needed.
• Leads safety programs, drills and emergency management activities; acts as Life Safety and Security Officer.
• Plans maintenance budgets, monitors costs, and coordinates with external contractors and vendors.
• Manages staff scheduling, performance, training and supervision to meet department goals.
