Job summary

Oxford Community Schools in Oxford, MI seeks a Director of Facilities, Maintenance and Custodial Operations to oversee the district’s facilities, grounds, and related services, ensuring safe, efficient and clean operations across all buildings.

This full-time, year-round role manages budgets, coordinates with administrators, oversees custodial contracts, energy conservation, and preventative maintenance, and leads a team of maintenance staff to support district priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of general maintenance, supervision, mechanical/electrical maintenance, preventive maintenance, HVACR and related areas.
• All relevant federal, state, and local compliance reporting.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, administrators, parents and the school community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee district building operations including maintenance, facilities, and custodial services.
• Authorize operational changes in conjunction with administrators.
• Participate in planning and overseeing bond issues or renovations.
• Prepare specifications and cost estimates for proposed work and bidding requirements.
• Develop and manage facilities plan in collaboration with administration.
• Oversee budgets for maintenance and operations.
• Monitor and manage responsibilities for district facilities insurance.
