Job summary

Sodexo Live! is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the venue's food and beverage operations at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, AL. The role partners with the General Manager to drive guest experiences, revenue, and a high-performance culture.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in leadership of F&B, a relevant degree, and proven ability to manage catering, concessions, and premium dining while upholding health, safety, and financial targets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in leading F&B operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or Business.
• Experience in catering, concessions, and premium dining.
• Strong P&L, budgeting and cost-control skills.
• Safe food handling and responsible alcohol service certifications.
• Proficiency with MS Office and POS/inventory systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Collaborative leadership across departments.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all food and beverage departments across concessions, catering, and premium services.
• Develop and execute strategies to maximize sales, guest satisfaction, and control costs.
• Forecast, plan, and execute daily operations with department heads.
• Ensure health, safety, and food handling regulations compliance.
• Hire, train, and mentor staff and managers, fostering accountability and growth.
• Monitor budgets, labor costs, and inventory to meet financial targets.
