LHH is partnered with a global manufacturing company in the Portland area in the search for a Director of External Reporting. This is a visible leadership role overseeing SEC reporting, technical accounting, and SOX for a complex, international organization.

Compensation: $175K – $200K base + 15–20% bonus + equity

Location: Portland, OR | Hybrid

The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Director of External Reporting to lead SEC reporting, technical accounting, and SOX compliance for a global public company.

You’ll oversee quarterly and annual SEC reporting, partner on complex technical accounting matters, lead the internal controls environment, and serve as a key point of contact for external audit. You’ll also have exposure to areas including equity, debt, income taxes, treasury, and other strategic finance initiatives.

This is not a turnaround situation. You’ll inherit an established team and functioning processes, with the opportunity to develop the team, strengthen technical capabilities, and continue elevating the reporting and compliance function.

The role will work closely with senior finance leadership and partner across legal, tax, treasury, and other areas of the business. The right person will be equally comfortable digging into a complex accounting issue and communicating the bigger picture to executive leadership while forming strong business partnerships.

The Company

Our client is a publicly traded global manufacturer with operations across multiple geographies. The organization offers the complexity and technical exposure of a larger public company while giving this role meaningful visibility with senior leadership.

The company is particularly interested in candidates coming from public-company environments, public accounting, or a combination of both. Manufacturing or capital equipment experience is a plus, along with exposure to inventory, revenue recognition, ASC 740, equity, debt, treasury, or foreign currency matters.

The Package

• Annual Bonus: 15–20% target
• Equity: Equity compensation at hire with additional annual awards
