Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field (public health, education, social science, public policy, social work).
• 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in program management, experiential learning, community engagement, or related areas.
• Experience independently managing complex projects and timelines across multiple departments and/or community organizations.
• Experience developing program evaluation plans and tools to make informed decisions and improve programs.
• Experience cultivating and maintaining program partnerships.
• Experience with student-learning assessment, data stewardship, accessibility, travel planning, and risk-management practices.
• Familiarity with academic requirements or accreditation expectations related to applied public health practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership for a portfolio of experiential learning programs and partnerships.
• Manage programs from planning through implementation and assessment, establishing priorities and workflows.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of Academic Health Department partnerships and coordinate student placements and activities.
• Support on-site delivery of Public Health in Action courses, including travel logistics.
• Develop strategies to expand practice-based learning opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and online students.
• Manage student applications, recruitment, onboarding, placement, and preparation processes.
• Mentor student project teams and train in project planning, evaluation, data stewardship, and professional skills.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student employees and provide guidance during field experiences.
• Cultivate partnerships with state/local health departments, community organizations, public health agencies, and other partners.
• Collaborate with partners and university units to define project scope, timelines, responsibilities, and resources.
• Assess program progress, analyze data, prepare reports, support accreditation activities, and suggest improvements.
• Travel domestically and internationally for student field experiences and conferences.
