Job summary

University of Michigan is seeking an experienced project manager to support capital projects and large-scale enterprise planning initiatives. You will develop project plans, lead implementation, track timelines, report status, and resolve issues in a collaborative environment.

The role offers exposure to the office's full portfolio and requires strong discretion when handling confidential matters. On-site in Ann Arbor 4–5 days a week with potential for hybrid scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of education and experience.
• Six-plus years of demonstrated experience applying project management best practices in a complex organization.
• Experience in environments requiring diplomacy, confidentiality and discretion.
• Proficiency deploying analytical skills to assess and analyze solutions for large-scale projects.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Google collaboration tools.
• Interest in working in a dynamic and decentralized organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects of varying sizes from planning through to operations transition.
• Translate leadership needs into actionable projects and manage them to completion.
• Build relationships with executives and subject-matter experts to achieve project goals.
• Identify risks and emerging needs and provide guidance accordingly.
• Lead project meetings and manage stakeholder input and agendas.
• Manage all project deliverables including documentation, risks, issues logs, scope changes, and budgets.
• Forecast timelines and communicate status using various delivery mediums.
• Document all phases of projects using PM software.
• Assess process improvements and provide recommendations.
• Draft reports from disparate information sources.
• Provide cross-functional coordination to maintain OPSI operations.
• Coordinate meeting logistics for OPSI leadership and project teams.
• Support OPSI priorities and enterprise initiatives.
