Job summary

The University of Michigan is seeking a Manager to build and lead the student affairs function at a new UMCI location serving students across multiple degree programs in Detroit. You will oversee advising, success coaching, and case management while aligning services with home schools and college partners to support student success and belonging.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Higher Education or related field.
• Seven+ years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs.
• Experience developing and leading student services and initiatives.
• Experience supervising professional staff and building teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of student affairs across UMCI degree programs.
• Oversee advising, support, and case management, linking to campus resources.
• Develop and lead student success strategies to boost engagement and retention.
• Build a growing student affairs team and evolve services as UMCI grows.
• Partner with schools, colleges, and university offices to coordinate services.
• Establish service standards and escalation pathways for student support across units.
