Job summary

The Obama Foundation is seeking a Manager of Events to lead the campus event rental sales function from inquiry to contract, building a high-performing team and maintaining robust CRM-driven forecasts.

Based onsite at the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park, you will optimize space utilization, manage client relationships, and drive revenue aligned with mission priorities and standards.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years in event rental or venue sales revenue roles.
• Experience leading a sales team and coaching performers.
• Proven CRM management, forecasting, and pipeline tracking.
• Strong financial acumen with budget and margin experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead the steady-state event rental sales function, including revenue strategy, sales planning, pipeline management, client cultivation, proposal activity, booking pace, forecasting, and annual revenue goals.
• Manage and develop Senior Associates and Sales Coordinators for event rental sales and admin support.
• Develop and implement SOPs for inquiry intake, lead qualification, response time, and pricing.
• Own the event rental sales funnel from inquiry to contracted business; qualify and convert leads.
• Maintain CRM records with client details, event type, value, stage, and forecasted revenue.
• Support revenue forecasting, budgeting, and margin analysis; drive profitability improvements.
