Position Summary:

The Director of Enterprise Application Services (EAS) is a strategic leader within Optimum’s consulting practice. They are responsible for overseeing and advancing one or more healthcare technology functional domains such as application leadership, training, data migration, change management, and application rationalization. Directors ensure the quality, consistency, and scalability of delivery for their domains across relevant client engagements.

This position also plays a key role in developing Optimum’s methodologies and tools in support of successful client engagements. The Director will partner across internal and external teams to support sales, recruiting, delivery, and account management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as internal expert on functional ownership areas
• Lead and evolve Optimum’s capabilities in specific EAS functional areas.
• Create and maintain internal standards, methodologies, toolkits, and proposal templates.
• Establish Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and contribute to scaling expertise across engagements.

Client Delivery & Outcomes

• Provide subject matter leadership across various client programs and initiatives.
• Ensure quality of service delivery and alignment with client goals and success metrics.
• Collaborate directly with client leadership, internal delivery teams, and Optimum stakeholders to ensure consistency and excellence in execution.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Engage regularly with Optimum’s consultants, account leaders, recruiting team, and other delivery leaders to align on project staffing, consultant development, and service execution.
• Serve as a point of contact and escalation for function-specific concerns across engagements.
• Contribute to pursuit strategies, proposals, and solution design aligned to functional areas.
• Serve as a subject matter expert during pre-sales activities and support RFP development.
• Collaborate with client partners and delivery executives to ensure engagement models align to client needs and internal capabilities.
• Mentor consultants aligned to your functional areas and help shape their career development.
• Provide guidance to client team members as appropriate to ensure successful change adoption and project outcomes.
• Participate in screening, onboarding, and coaching of consultants and leaders in delivery roles.

Qualifications:

Required

• 10+ years of healthcare industry experience, including a blend of management consulting, healthcare operations, and/or EHR-focused roles.
• 5+ years in a leadership or delivery-focused role within digital transformation or enterprise systems initiatives.
• Demonstrated success leading projects or practices within Epic, Cerner, or related enterprise platforms.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and executive communication skills.
• Track record of building repeatable processes, toolkits, or practice assets to support scalable delivery.

Preferred

• Familiarity with enterprise initiatives such as M&A integration, shared services deployment, EHR and ERP integration, application rationalization, and similar programs.
• Certifications such as Epic applications, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or PROSCI.
• Prior experience with healthcare consulting firms across strategy and management consulting, boutique healthcare IT consulting firms, or as a leader in internal health system teams.
