Job summary

PowerPlan is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the next generation cloud-native SaaS platform for regulated utilities, translating strategy into scalable execution and delivering modern architecture that accelerates SaaS adoption while ensuring security, reliability, and compliance within highly regulated environments.

You will be hands-on where it matters, model a culture of ownership, and coach leaders across Engineering Managers, Directors, and senior ICs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• 5+ years leading large multi-team organizations.
• Proven modernization of enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end NXT architecture and platform execution.
• Translate architectural vision into executable engineering plans with milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.
• Ensure cloud-native patterns, API-first standards, data strategy, and security-by-design.
• Balance modernization speed with operational safety for regulated utility customers.
• Lead and develop Engineering Managers, Directors, and senior ICs.
