Job summary

PowerPlan seeks a Principal Software Developer to set technical direction for its tax, accounting, and workflow platform. You’ll move between hands-on development in .NET, Angular, and Azure and strategic architecture conversations, becoming a trusted technical authority across multiple domains.

You’ll mentor peers, promote scalable, production-ready features, and help shape the next generation of the PowerPlan platform in a high-trust engineering culture with on-site and work-from-home

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in modern .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core) including API design and async patterns.
• Strong frontend skills with TypeScript and Angular.
• Experience designing relational schemas and optimizing SQL in Azure SQL/SQL Server.
• Azure cloud experience focusing on scalability, resiliency, and cost/performance tradeoffs.
• Proven ability to lead architecture or design discussions across multiple domains.
• Track record mentoring developers via pairing and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Within first 30–45 days, embed with architects, learn architecture, and flag a real scalability risk.
• By ~month 3, lead a design/architecture review and align SMEs/leadership.
• Design, build, and maintain production-ready features across .NET/C#, Angular/TypeScript, and Azure.
• From month six, establish a consistent mentoring presence through pairing and code reviews.
• Surface risks early and drive discussions to clear, principled decisions.
