Job summary

AVISTA RENTALS LLC in Myrtle Beach seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the hotel maintenance department, oversee renovations, and manage electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pools, and related systems.

The role involves inspecting facilities, coordinating with contractors, supervising staff, ensuring safety standards, and delivering timely work orders with minimal guest disruption.

Qualifications

• Previous managerial experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, sewer, wall repair, appliances, and HVAC systems.
• CPMM certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the hotel regularly to ensure safety standards are met.
• Arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies, and facilities.
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Respond and coordinate responses to guest calls and emergencies.
• Perform maintenance and repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall/wallpaper, painting, exteriors, and appliances.
• Lead maintenance department to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Interview, train, and supervise staff.

Director of Engineering - Grande Shores Resort

Job description – The Director of Engineering will lead the department in all maintenance and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience maintaining aspects of a hotel such as; electrical, plumbing, wall repair, pools, and HVAC units.

Jobresponsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Inspect the hotel regularly to ensure safety standardsare met
• Work directly with the Home Owners' Department
• Arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms,lobbies, and facilities
• Manage relationships with contractors and serviceproviders
• Respond and coordinate responses to guest calls andemergencies
• Perform various maintenance repairs in HVAC,electrical, plumbing, drywall/ wallpaper, painting, building exteriors,and appliances
• Perform maintenance and repairs with a minimum of guestdisturbance
• Ensure completion of all work orders in a timely anddetailed manner per company program standards
• Execution of scheduled preventative maintenance
• Maintain all storage areas and work spaces in a clean,safe, and secure manner
• Lead maintenance department in order to managecompeting priorities and deadlines
• Interview, train, and supervise staff
• Follow all company safety and security policies andprocedures; report any maintenance problems/safety hazards

Requirements-

• Available to work a flexible schedule includingweekends and holidays
• Previous managerial experience in a similarposition
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, sewer, wall repair,appliances, and HVAC systems
• High school diploma or equivalent; degree from a vocationalschool or BSc/BA in Facility Management is preferred
• Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM) is aplus
• Valid SC Driver’s License
