Job summary

Kaizen Lab Inc. in Myrtle Beach, SC, seeks a Director of Engineering for Grande Shores Resort to lead the maintenance department across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems.

The role focuses on safety, guest comfort, and preventative maintenance while coordinating with vendors and the Home Owners' Department. Responsibilities include inspecting facilities, managing contractors, supervising staff, scheduling work orders, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Must have managerial maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, sewer, wall repair, appliances, and HVAC.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays; valid SC driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s/technical degree preferred for facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Inspect hotel facilities to ensure safety standards are met.
• Lead maintenance department and supervise staff.
• Coordinate routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies, and facilities.
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Respond to guest calls and emergencies; minimize disturbances.
• Perform repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, and painting.
• Process work orders promptly and maintain organized storage/workspace.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and train the team.

Director of Engineering - Grande Shores Resort

Job description – The Director of Engineering will lead the department in all maintenance and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience maintaining aspects of a hotel such as; electrical, plumbing, wall repair, pools, and HVAC units.

Jobresponsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Inspect the hotel regularly to ensure safety standardsare met
• Work directly with the Home Owners' Department
• Arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms,lobbies, and facilities
• Manage relationships with contractors and serviceproviders
• Respond and coordinate responses to guest calls andemergencies
• Perform various maintenance repairs in HVAC,electrical, plumbing, drywall/ wallpaper, painting, building exteriors,and appliances
• Perform maintenance and repairs with a minimum of guestdisturbance
• Ensure completion of all work orders in a timely anddetailed manner per company program standards
• Execution of scheduled preventative maintenance
• Maintain all storage areas and work spaces in a clean,safe, and secure manner
• Lead maintenance department in order to managecompeting priorities and deadlines
• Interview, train, and supervise staff
• Follow all company safety and security policies andprocedures; report any maintenance problems/safety hazards

Requirements-

• Available to work a flexible schedule includingweekends and holidays
• Previous managerial experience in a similarposition
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, sewer, wall repair,appliances, and HVAC systems
• High school diploma or equivalent; degree from a vocationalschool or BSc/BA in Facility Management is preferred
• Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM) is aplus
• Valid SC Driver’s License
