Job summary

Consumers Energy in Michigan seeks a Director of Engineering to lead planning, validation, coordination, procurement, and execution of complex programs such as the Next Generation Advanced Metering Infrastructure. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with ten or more years of project management in a regulatory environment.
• Alternative: Bachelor's in Engineering plus a Professional Engineering license with ten or more years of project management in a regulatory environment.
• Strong leadership skills across large, matrixed teams and complex programs.

Responsibilities

• Establish and monitor systems for measuring progress and problem-solving.
• Coordinate preparation of reports for senior leadership or regulatory agencies.
• Develop budgets, schedules, and performance standards for engineering programs.
• Oversee all engineering projects from conception to completion within budget and schedule.
• Lead governance, risk management, and vendor/contract management across programs.
