Job summary

Scion Technology is helping a HealthTech client hire a Senior Software Engineering Manager in New Jersey for a full‑time, onsite role. You will build a new engineering organization, guide architecture across products, and lead AI-enabled initiatives throughout the lifecycle.

You will establish principles, drive architectural choices, and shape the team and product strategy, with significant influence over technical direction and delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering organizations through growth or transformation.
• Proven ability to improve engineering productivity, delivery velocity, and software quality.
• Practical experience using AI-enabled tools as part of modern software development workflows.
• Strong architectural judgment and ability to evaluate unfamiliar systems and technologies.
• Experience in healthcare, regulated technology, or another quality-sensitive environment is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to work onsite five days per week and travel periodically to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and grow a new engineering group, including recruiting, organizational design, onboarding, and leadership development.
• Improve development throughput, delivery consistency, and software quality.
• Identify and remove obstacles that limit engineering productivity.
• Provide technical leadership for major new product initiatives involving intelligent recommendations and AI-enabled experiences.
• Guide architecture across mature applications and newly developed systems.
• Establish engineering principles, technical standards, and development practices.
• Incorporate AI-assisted approaches into implementation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and technical exploration.

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Senior Software Engineering Manager for our client, a growing HealthTech organization building the next generation of intelligent health SaaS products! This is a full‑time, direct hire position based onsite in New Jersey.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Build a new engineering organization, improve development effectiveness, guide architecture across established and emerging products, and help introduce practical AI‑assisted methods across the engineering lifecycle.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
