Job summary

Scion Technology is actively seeking an AI/ML Platform Architect to define the AI roadmap and drive production-grade AI capabilities within a rapidly growing cybersecurity environment. You will work with Product, Engineering, and customers to shape the platform and contribute to long-term AI strategy.

Responsibilities include leading AI/ML architecture, building scalable data pipelines, and hands-on coding in Python/Java on AWS.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software architecture experience with AI/ML focus.
• Experience shipping AI-powered products, hands-on with AI models.
• Data engineering across large-scale pipelines, ETL, streaming, ML workflows.
• Production experience with Python, Java, AWS; familiarity with cybersecurity, cloud/security domains preferred.
• Startup or early-stage experience in ambiguous, resource-constrained environments.
• Strong communicator and collaborative team player with ownership mindset.
• Hands-on builder mentality with a track record of delivering results.

• Design, build, and optimize custom AI/ML solutions, including large-scale data pipelines, real-time processing, and ML workflows.
• Stay hands-on in the code, contributing directly to production engineering while making key architectural and technical decisions.
• Drive rapid iteration and experimentation while ensuring AI systems meet security, compliance, governance, and data protection standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, customers, and partners to shape AI capabilities and ecosystem integrations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and data scientists while contributing to long-term AI and product strategy.

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced AI/ML Platform Architect for our client, a rapidly growing cybersecurity company building AI-driven solutions for enterprise security! This is a full-time, direct hire position offering a 100% remote schedule (EST or CST preferred).

POSITION OVERVIEW

Define the AI roadmap, make key architectural decisions, and write production code alongside the engineering team. Develop a custom AI engine designed to unify fragmented security signals into actionable enterprise insights. Work closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, partners, and customers to help shape the future of the AI-driven platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the AI/ML architecture and roadmap, translating business and customer needs into scalable, production-ready AI capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of software architecture experience with a strong focus on AI/ML, distributed systems, and production software.
• Proven experience building and shipping custom AI-powered products from the ground up, including hands-on experience with AI models.
• Strong data engineering experience across large-scale data pipelines, ETL, streaming, and ML workflows.
• Production experience with Python, Java, and AWS; familiarity with cybersecurity, cloud, identity, or security posture management is strongly preferred.
• Startup or early-stage experience with a demonstrated ability to take a vision from strategy through execution in an ambiguous, resource-constrained environment.
• Strong communicator and collaborative team player with the ability to bridge technical concepts with business and customer outcomes.
• Hands-on builder mentality with a track record of taking ownership, making smart technical tradeoffs, and delivering results.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This full-time position offers an annual base salary up to $200k, commensurate with experience, plus bonus & equity. The organization also provides 100% employer-paid healthcare and unlimited PTO.
