Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Director of Embedded Finance to partner with Power Production and Energy teams. You will model energy economics, evaluate PPAs, and ensure returns on energy infrastructure investments while collaborating with data center operations and finance.

This role requires 8+ years in finance within power/energy, advanced modeling, and the ability to communicate complex energy concepts to leadership for strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of finance experience in power generation, energy, or utilities.
• Strong understanding of power economics: LCOE, capacity factors, fuel cost pass-through, and PPAs.
• Advanced financial modeling skills; experience building project finance or asset-level models.
• Experience underwriting capital projects with engineering/ops teams.
• Familiarity with energy market dynamics, wholesale power pricing, and natural gas markets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; translate energy concepts for leadership.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Model LCOE, plant utilization, and unit economics for on-site generation assets.
• Model and evaluate PPAs, interconnections, and offtake contracts with Legal and Energy teams.
• Lead capital planning and investment case work for new generation, transmission, and energy storage projects.
• Coordinate FP&A for power generation across close, forecast, budget, and long-range planning.
• Monitor energy market trends and translate into financial implications for leadership.
• Align Power Production, Data Center Operations, and corporate FP&A on power supply and compute demand.
• Evaluate financial impact of energy tax credits, regulations, and policy changes on returns.
