Job summary

Ladders is looking for a Director of Electrical Strategic Sourcing to drive the sourcing strategy for electrical commodities in a high-impact energy technology business. This leader will partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, and executive leadership to shape supply chain decisions, manage risk, and support product transitions.

The role focuses on cost optimization, supplier qualification, and developing resilient sourcing pathways for critical electrical components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 20+ years in electrical engineering, operations, and supply chain experience; 3-5 years in sourcing management.
• Deep technical knowledge of power electronics, PCBAs, connectors, and battery systems.
• Experience onboarding contract manufacturers for electromechanical assemblies, preferably in the US/Mexico.
• Proven track record in best-total-cost commodity strategy and supplier risk management.
• Strong executive presence with negotiation skills at the senior management level.
• Familiarity with compliance-driven sourcing environments such as FEOC and IRA.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of commodity managers and sourcing program managers
• Serve as the supply chain escalation point for executive leadership
• Partner with Engineering and Product Management to influence product roadmap
• Set and execute commodity strategy targeting best total cost
• Develop and implement inbound logistics and procurement strategy for electrical commodities
• Own sourcing strategy for AC-to-DC product transition, including BOM-level analysis
• Source and qualify power conversion equipment to eliminate single-source dependencies
• Execute a multi-path battery and BMS sourcing strategy compliant with FEOC and IRA requirements
• Identify and onboard contract manufacturers for electrical assemblies
• Lead cost-down initiatives and negotiate contracts for critical commodities
