Job summary

CHAOS Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to build and lead the electrical engineering organization responsible for power, analog, mixed-signal, and digital electronics across RF sensors and avionics systems.

You will recruit and develop a rapidly growing team, establish engineering standards and practices, allocate resources across programs, and ensure hardware is delivered on schedule and to high reliability standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; 15+ years in engineering leadership for complex, high-reliability electronics.
• Background in aerospace/defense electronics such as radar, EW, missiles, space or related fields.
• Expertise across fast digital, analog and mixed-signal, and power electronics; familiarity with high-speed interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a growing team of power, analog, mixed-signal, and digital engineers.
• Define hiring plans, capabilities, standards, and design review practices.
• Plan staffing, schedules, and resource allocation across programs.
• Develop electronic system architectures and trade studies to meet performance, SWaP-C, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
• Provide technical leadership across HW, FPGA/embedded software interfaces, RF circuits, thermal design, packaging, manufacturing, and test.
• Lead hardware integration, qualification, and transition to production; investigate failures and provide field support.
