Job summary

CHAOS Industries seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer in El Segundo, CA to lead high-reliability power and analog electronics for aerospace and military applications across the full product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will own complex mixed power, precision analog, sensing, filtering, and control circuit designs while coordinating with RF, digital, embedded software, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams. This is a full-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of experience in power and analog electronics for high-reliability systems.
• Experience designing complex power and analog electronics for aerospace/defense/high-reliability domains.
• Strong understanding of DC/DC conversion, regulation, protection, sequencing, and thermal management.
• Experience with EMI/EMC mitigation and layout practices for mixed environments.
• Hands-on experience with verification, qualification, and field support for mission-critical hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead power electronics and analog board design for aerospace/defense electronics across programs.
• Define design approaches for power distribution, DC/DC conversion, sensing, filtering, and control circuitry.
• Perform schematic design and simulation for power and analog circuits.
• Resolve complex issues involving power, controls, EMI/EMC, and system integration with limited supervision.
• Guide PCB layout for low-noise analog design, high-current power paths, grounding, shielding, and thermal management.
• Conduct design margin evaluation, derating, tolerance analysis, thermal assessment, and failure analysis.
• Support hardware integration, verification, qualification, production transition, and field support.
