Salary: $148,000–$220,000 base + benefits + equity

We are partnering with an established US manufacturer of critical power and energy technologies to appoint a Director of Power Conversion & Energy Storage.

This is a senior engineering leadership position with responsibility for an established multidisciplinary team and the development of the company’s next generation of power conversion, battery and energy storage products.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical understanding across both power and battery technologies with significant engineering leadership and a proven record of bringing products from initial concept through to production and commercial release.

What You’ll Lead

• Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team of approximately 10 engineers.
• Own technical direction across power conversion, power electronics, batteries and energy storage.
• Drive new products from concept and architecture through prototyping, validation, certification and production.
• Oversee development across technologies including power electronics, battery systems, BMS, embedded controls and DC power systems.
• Establish engineering priorities, development processes and technical roadmaps.
• Work closely with manufacturing, product and commercial teams to successfully industrialize new technologies.
• Identify new technologies and architectures that improve product efficiency, reliability, performance and competitiveness.
• Provide senior technical and people leadership while developing the capabilities of the wider engineering organization.

What We’re Looking For

The three critical requirements for this appointment are:

• Power + Battery Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of both power conversion/power electronics and battery/energy storage technologies.
• Concept-to-Production Experience: Demonstrable experience taking engineered products from initial concept through development, testing and validation into full-scale production.
• Senior Engineering Leadership: Significant experience managing engineering teams and functions at Director level or above.

Relevant technical experience could include power converters, rectifiers, inverters, battery chargers, UPS, PCS, BESS, BMS, DC power systems, embedded controls or related critical-power technologies.

Experience within an OEM or product-development environment is strongly preferred.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a key engineering function within an established manufacturer with 50+ years in critical power technology.

You’ll have the autonomy to influence the company’s technical roadmap, develop an experienced engineering team and lead the creation of products that will form the next generation of its power conversion and energy storage portfolio.

Base salary up to $220,000 + relocation assistance.
