Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Director of Environmental Health & Safety to lead site EHS for a large-scale AI data center project in Abilene, Texas. You will drive the EHS strategy across construction, commissioning, and turnover, coordinating with GC partners, vendors, and operations to ensure safe, compliant execution.

You will build and lead the EHS team, oversee field governance for high-risk activities, and integrate EHS considerations into project planning and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in complex construction/industrial environments.
• Strong leadership of EHS programs, teams, and contractor performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS strategy for Project Frontier across construction and commissioning activities.
• Build and deploy the EHS team based on risk, schedule, and field conditions.
• Integrate EHS into planning and execution with project leadership and partners.
• Provide governance for high-risk activities, energy systems, testing, and turnover.
• Oversee incident investigations using root-cause methods and ensure corrective actions.
• Maintain records, analytics, and reporting on leading indicators and contractor performance.
