Job summary

New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM, seeks a Director of Education Program to provide leadership over Education Programs (Early Childhood, Alternative Licensure) and ensure accreditation, compliance, and curriculum quality.

The role includes supervising faculty, recruiting and advising students, teaching courses as needed (up to 6 credit hours), and representing the college in statewide educational initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum five years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience in supervision and/or working with licensure boards is desirable.
  • Experience teaching education courses at the college level preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of NMJC's Education Programs (Early Childhood, Alternative Licensure, etc.).
  • Participate in statewide meetings for education directors related to NMJC programs.
  • Maintain national accreditation and ensure state/federal reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, NMPED requirements, CAEP accreditation, and federal mandates.
  • Recruit and advise students and teach education courses as needed (up to 6 credits/semester).
