Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree required in education, literacy, or reading from a regionally accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of classroom teaching, reading specialist, or literacy coach experience.
• Experience teaching education courses at the college level is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate all education coursework related to literacy to ensure alignment with Science of Reading competencies.
• Manage the 100-hour structured literacy observation placements at Local Education Agencies with LETRS-trained mentors.
• Serve as liaison to external stakeholders to coordinate statewide literacy initiatives.
• Track and analyze candidate literacy assessments and support reporting for funding and licensure eligibility.
• Teach education courses (up to 6 credit hours) each fall/spring as needed.
• Fulfill institutional service requirements by participating on committees as assigned.
• Assist the President by supporting College activities as needed.
