Job Summary:

The Director of Dining Services is the strategic business leader of the community’s food and beverage/culinary operation, ensuring resident and client satisfaction by providing high-quality products and hospitality, while meeting financial goals and fostering a positive work environment. You will oversee departmental strategies, implement the Compass Community Living’s service strategy, and serve as the face of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement overall operating strategy aligned with company and client goals.
  2. Take ownership of business outcomes, hold the leadership team accountable for service behaviors.
  3. Evaluate personnel and operations, make recommendations, and adapt as needed.
  4. Maintain professionalism and resilience during stressful periods; ensure compliance with health regulations.
  5. Lead safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs.
  6. Communicate effectively with staff and management through meetings and updates.
  7. Understand market dynamics and financial drivers to diagnose and develop strategies.
  8. Manage budgets, control costs, and review financial reports.
  9. Build strong relationships with residents, staff, and other departments.
  10. Improve service quality based on resident feedback and market trends.
  11. Lead team building, coaching, and mentoring efforts.
  12. Hire and retain talented leadership, promote professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; A.A. plus experience acceptable.
  • 5-7 years of foodservice management experience, including P&L responsibility.
  • Knowledge of food trends, sanitation, and cost controls.
  • Strong supervisory and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, ServSafe certification preferred.
