Job summary

Gladden Community House in Columbus, OH is seeking a Director of Development & Fundraising to lead its fundraising strategy and raise awareness of the organization across Central Ohio and beyond.

The role reports to the President & CEO, cultivating donor relationships, guiding annual and major-gift initiatives, and overseeing fundraising communications and marketing to advance Gladden's mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or extensive relevant professional experience.
• At least five years in professional sales, nonprofit business development, community relations, or related field.
• Proven ability to develop and sustain long-term relationships.
• Nonprofit experience as employee or volunteer and passion for mission-driven work.
• Positive, engaging leadership and collaborative approach.
• Strong organizational, written, verbal, and relationship-management skills.
• Proficiency with technology, databases, current applications, and social media.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy across corporate and foundation giving, annual campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, and events.
• Identify, research, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with high-potential donors.
• Partner with executive leadership and colleagues to advance fundraising goals.
• Collaborate with the Board to set priorities and report advancement progress.

Gladden Community House is seeking a Director of Development & Fundraising to lead its comprehensive fundraising strategy and strengthen awareness of the organization throughout Central Ohio and beyond. Reporting to the President & CEO, this senior-level leader will cultivate donor and community relationships, guide annual and major-gift initiatives, oversee fundraising communications and marketing, and help advance Gladden's strategic plan and mission.

As the Director of Development & Fundraising, you will:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy encompassing corporate and foundation giving, annual campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, and special events.


• Identify, research, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individuals, corporations, foundations, and other high-potential donors.


• Partner with the President & CEO, development staff, senior leaders, and colleagues across the organization to advance fundraising goals.


• Collaborate with the Board of Directors to establish priorities, engage members in fundraising activities, and report on advancement progress.


• Lead marketing and communications strategies that promote Gladden's mission, programs, services, and fundraising initiatives.


• Use data and reporting tools to monitor results, identify trends, guide strategy, and maintain accurate, valuable CRM.


• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical fundraising practices.


• Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for Gladden, build mutually beneficial community partnerships, and represent the organization at public events.


• Contribute to Gladden's strategic direction, trusted brand, positive reputation, and collaborative culture, with the potential to manage team members.

Qualifications:

• Experience with nonprofit boards, fundraising events, grant writing, proposals, business cases, or CRM systems is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary range of $85,000-$95,000 annually

Gladden Community House is a settlement house serving the Franklinton and near west side neighborhoods of Columbus, Ohio since 1905. Today Gladden's programs serve thousands of neighborhood children and families as well as clients throughout Franklin County enrolled in our homelessness prevention and family support services.

The Director of Development & Fundraising will help share Gladden's history, impact, and vision, while building the partnerships and resources needed to sustain and grow its essential services.
