Job summary

Render is seeking its first Developer Programs Lead to own Render's social presence, developer community, developer programs, and developer voice. You will set strategy across four areas, decide hiring needs, and report to the Head of Developer Experience.

You will build and lead the team, own social channels, grow the community across Discord and Reddit, run AMAs and events, and ensure feedback reaches Product and Engineering. Collaboration with Marketing shapes external narrative.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across social, community, developer marketing, or brand, including time building or leading a function at a growing company.
• Experience hiring and leading a team, or building a function from early stage with a clear plan for who to add and when.
• Recent hands‑on ownership of a company's social channels. You can show us accounts you ran and copy you wrote.
• Experience building a developer community or program, with results you can explain.
• Experience shaping a brand voice, and examples of how it changed the way a company sounded.
• Fluency with developer audiences and enough technical comfort to write accurately about infrastructure, with the judgment to check with an engineer first.
• You work without a playbook and with little direction across Marketing, Product, and Engineering.
• Steady judgment when something goes wrong in public.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the team: set strategy and goals for social, community, developer programs, and developer brand.
• Decide what to build first, what to hand to agencies or contractors, and when to hire. Then hire and manage the team.
• Report on what's working to Development Experience and Marketing leadership, and change course when something isn't.
• Own Social: Run Render's accounts on X, LinkedIn, and Reddit yourself at first; write posts and engage with developers.
• Set channel strategy: where we show up, how often, and what we measure.
• Handle outages, pricing changes, and sharp criticism in public with the right people.
• Grow our Developer Community: build presence in Discord, Reddit, and other places with the DX team.
• Run AMAs, livestreams, and community events with DX.
• Bring what you hear from developers back to Product and Engineering.
• Build programs that grow Render's reach through developers, ambassadors, referrals, speaking, and employee advocacy.
• Own the developer voice: define Render's voice and style for developers, and codify it for engineers, product managers, and marketers.
• Work with the VP of Marketing and product marketing on Render's external narrative.
