Alta Resource Technologies in Boulder, CO seeks a Head of Data Science and Automation to own the data backbone behind R&D and scale-up. This hands-on director role builds and runs the systems while hiring, leading, and developing a small team of data and automation engineers.

You will own data pipelines, LIMS/ELN, and integration of instruments and equipment, ensuring traceability and readiness for modeling and decision making.

• Leads data science and automation teams to deliver impact.
• Experience building production data pipelines and data platforms.
• Strong communication between scientists, engineers and leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain data pipelines from instruments to a central data platform.
• Lead and mentor a small team of data engineers and automation engineers.
• Define data models, metadata standards, and ontologies for traceability.
• Ensure data integrity, quality, and OT security for regulated programs.
• Deliver analysis-ready datasets to computational biology and R&D teams.
• Integrate LIMS/ELN with instruments and process equipment.
• Collaborate with build/test/scale teams to improve throughput and cycle time.
• Communicate roadmaps, trade-offs, and results to stakeholders.
• Balance hands-on work with leadership and documentation.
