Starbucks Coffee Company is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead enterprise data governance transformation, making trusted data a foundation for confident decisions and meaningful business outcomes.

You’ll run a multi-layered governance organization and an analytics/BI team, partnering with security, privacy and business leaders to drive accountability, measurable improvements, and AI-ready data platforms across domains.

Competenze

• 12+ years of experience in data, platform or software engineering.
• 5+ years leading engineering managers and large distributed teams.
• Proven leadership of enterprise data governance transformation: maturity framework, domain roadmaps and measurable improvement.
• Experience building enterprise-scale data platforms and governance capabilities.
• Hands-on with modern cloud data stacks, batch/streaming systems and metadata platforms.

Mansioni

• Lead enterprise governance transformation across cross-functional federated teams.
• Define outcomes and track ownership, quality, metadata, lineage and control effectiveness.
• Develop data health cards describing ownership, quality, lineage and readiness gaps, with remediation plans.
• Lead the development of AI-ready data as a downstream outcome of trusted data foundations.
• Build and scale an insights and BI team delivering governed metrics and trusted self-service.
