Job summary

UC Santa Barbara is seeking a Custodial Manager to lead the Custodial Services group within Facilities Management. The role covers hiring, evaluation, discipline, safety compliance, and coordinating with campus stakeholders to ensure high-quality cleaning services across multiple buildings.

Responsibilities include directing four Principal Supervisors and four Lead Laborers, managing supplies and inventory, developing cleaning standards, and ensuring adherence to sustainability goals and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience/training.
• 7-9 years custodial experience.
• 4-6 years supervision of custodial staff.
• Advanced knowledge of custodial and housekeeping services including hazardous waste codes.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Experience building effective working relationships and negotiating.

Responsibilities

• Oversee custodial services for facilities management across ~4.1 million sq ft.
• Hire, evaluate, and discipline custodial staff and supervise four Principal Supervisors and four Lead Laborers.
• Ensure safety, compliance with policies, and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop cleaning standards and quality control reports; improve campus relations.
• Manage supplies, inventory control, and costs; coordinate safety training.
• Oversee work orders in WebTMA and coordinate custodial operations with EH&S.
