Job summary

The NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), Division of Safety and Site Support, is seeking a Director for the Office of Construction Safety. The Director will oversee all aspects of the Agency's construction safety program to help ensure the safe delivery of DDC's capital construction projects.

Qualifications

• Six years of full-time construction management experience on capital projects with managerial exposure.
• Experience in construction inspection on capital projects valued at minimum $300,000.
• Education or training in architecture, engineering, or related field with relevant coursework.
• New York State license as professional engineer or architect or reciprocity substituted with six years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction safety operations and audits, including incident investigations and emergency response.
• Manage safety policy development, updates, and contract safety documents.
• Prepare monthly safety reports and monitor safety performance across projects.
• Represent the Office of Construction Safety in internal and external meetings.
