Job summary

Kent Companies in Grand Rapids seeks a Director of Finance & Accounting to lead all accounting and financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and internal controls. The role partners with the CFO and executive leadership to shape financial strategy.

Responsibilities include establishing policies, ensuring GAAP compliance, and driving risk management, process improvements, and WIP/job-cost reporting across divisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field.
• ~8–10 years progressive accounting/finance experience preferred.
• Construction industry experience preferred with multi-division or multi-entity contractor.
• Knowledge of construction accounting, financial reporting, job costing, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Experience with construction accounting systems such as Viewpoint Spectrum/Viewpoint Vista/Sage/Foundation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of accounting and finance activities across the organization.
• Partner with the CFO and executives to develop and execute the financial strategy.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
