Job summary

Kent Companies, a leading concrete contractor in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Director of Finance & Accounting to oversee the company’s accounting and financial operations.

This senior role partners with the CFO to drive financial strategy, ensure GAAP reporting, manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate has a CPA or CMA, 8–10 years in construction finance, and hands-on experience with Viewpoint Spectrum or similar platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
• CPA, CMA or CCIFP certification preferred.
• 8–10 years progressive accounting/finance experience in construction.
• Knowledge of construction accounting, job costing and percentage of completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of accounting and finance activities across the organization.
• Collaborate with CFO to develop and execute the financial strategy and controls.
• Ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting and internal controls across divisions.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital management.
• Lead integration of new divisions or acquisitions and support audits.
