Job summary

College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University seeks a Director of Community Life to lead campus programming for residential, online, domestic, and international students. You will oversee student government, plan weekly events, and coordinate with SOT/Sem teams to align programs with curricular and Benedictine values.

You will manage residential life initiatives, collaborate with campus partners, and develop assessment plans to improve student life.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in theology/ministry or equivalent.
• 2+ years in student life, housing, or campus ministry administration.
• Familiarity with Catholic and monastic practices around community living.
• Ability to organize and assess co-curricular programs.
• Commitment to inclusive excellence and intercultural humility in Catholic Social Teaching and Benedictine values.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead community life events for residential, online, domestic and international students.
• Oversee Student Government and student-led programming; collaborate with SOT/Sem teams.
• Plan weekly events, including Thursday Convivium; support service and Benedictine practices groups.
• Coordinate with Formation programs, centers, and grants for events aligning with curricular goals.
• Promote intercultural humility among student life activities.
• Liaise with Director of Student Services on special initiatives.
• Develop a plan for regular assessment of community life needs and impact.
• Participate in SOT/Sem staff life and planning; contribute to residential life policy development.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Dining, Life Safety, Counseling, and other offices to support events.
