Job summary

College of St. Scholastica is seeking an Assistant Director of Residential Life in Duluth, MN. This twelve-month, staff-full-time role oversees housing operations and staff supervision to foster a welcoming, student-centered living environment and supports summer conferencing activities.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and 1–2 years in housing or student programming, plus the ability to work evenings/weekends and lead a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social sciences, business management, or related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
• 1–2 years of housing operations, residence life, summer conferencing, or student programming.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and assess a comprehensive residential curriculum that fosters a vibrant, inclusive, and learning-centered community.
• Collaborate with campus partners to connect residential programming with student well-being, satisfaction, and retention.
• Directly supervise professional Area Coordinator and Apartment RAs (about 10); oversee Somers RAs (about 9).
• Respond to campus emergencies and provide crisis intervention for residential students.
• Oversee the residential student conduct process using restorative justice practices to address community standards violations.
