Job summary

The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University invites applications for the full-time, benefit-eligible position of Director of Community Life in the School of Theology and Seminary (SOT/Sem). The director leads student life, coordinates activities with liturgies, and manages Emmaus Hall residential life to support study, prayer, and community.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in theology and/or ministry or equivalent.
• Two or more years of experience in student affairs, student life, residence life, campus ministry, higher education administration, community engagement, or closely related field.
• Familiarity with Catholic and monastic practices around community living.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute administrative responsibilities around co-curricular development and assessment.
• Commitment to inclusive excellence and intercultural humility within Catholic Social Teaching and Benedictine values.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal relation skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends as needed to support community life programs and events.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee SOT/Sem community life programming and events.
• Coordinate student activities in collaboration with SOT/Sem liturgies and formation.
• Manage Emmaus Hall and related residential facilities for students.
• Oversee student government, orientation programs, and service days.
• Cultivate partnerships across CSB/SJU and with monastic communities.
• Support intercultural humility initiatives within student life.
• Collaborate with Student Services and Admissions on housing and policy development.
• Develop and maintain assessment plans for community life needs.
• Participate in SOT/Sem administrative staff planning.
