Job summary

The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University invites applications for a full-time (0.95 FTE), benefit-eligible Residential Dining Lead in Saint John’s University dining operations. This role provides leadership, training, and day-to-day support across dining locations, catering, and monastery/retirement center dining.

You will supervise student staff, ensure safety and sanitation standards, manage service flow, and uphold excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• ServSafe Food Safety Certification required or within 12 months of hire.
• Food service experience preferred and working with standardized recipes.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills.
• Strong customer service and staff supervision abilities.
• Willingness to work rotating schedule including evenings and every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, organized, safe dining areas and ensure sanitation standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service with knowledge of menu offerings and presentation.
• Lead daily service and act as primary contact for monastery customers; assist across Culinary Services.
• Operate cash registers and handle payments accurately.
• Ensure safety and sanitation procedures are followed in all areas.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers to support efficient operations.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress standards.
• Provide input for menu development and cost-saving opportunities.
