Job summary

Vertafore is seeking a Director of Cloud Operations to lead our hybrid cloud platform spanning AWS and colocation datacenters. You will drive reliability, scalability, automation, and governance for foundational infra services, partnering with Product Development, SRE, and InfoSec to enable reliable SaaS delivery.

You will manage a global team of senior engineers/managers, shaping strategy and overseeing modernization efforts while ensuring security and compliance across cloud and datacenter

Qualifications

• Seasoned leader with experience running large hybrid cloud platforms.
• Strong collaboration with SRE, Product Engineering, and InfoSec to align infrastructure with product goals.
• Proven ability to drive cost visibility, optimization, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee large segments of hybrid infrastructure including AWS and colocation environments.
• Ensure availability, scalability, and resilience of networking, storage, DNS, identity, and virtualization.
• Lead IaC adoption and automation improvements across provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Partner with security to enforce IAM controls and infrastructure hardening.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to align capabilities with growth and architecture.
• Manage and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers, driving hiring and performance development.
