Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Lenexa, KS hybrid engineering hub. You will own the architecture and delivery of a modern client-facing platform, steer the legacy-to-cloud migration, and present technology roadmaps to executives while guiding a 3-4 agile teams of ~30 engineers.

The role emphasizes cloud-native Microsoft .NET/React expertise, strategic influence across product and enterprise teams, and a proactive approach to engineering excellence

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of software engineering and technical leadership experience.
• Strong background in the Microsoft (.NET) development ecosystem, modern JavaScript frameworks (React), and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience delivering cloud-native applications (Azure).
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills to bridge technical solutions to executive business strategies.

Responsibilities

• Own the execution, deployment, and ongoing feature development of the flagship client-facing platform.
• Drive legacy-to-cloud modernization and decommission aging systems with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with Product, Business, Architecture, and Enterprise Tech to shape product definitions and technical requirements.
• Manage the engineering division's budget, asset lifecycles, risks, and SLAs.
