Job summary

Markel is seeking an senior technology leader to own the Claims IT strategy, delivery, and operations across the US. You will drive Guidewire ClaimCenter initiatives, oversee integrations, and lead AI-enabled improvements to claim outcomes, productivity, and LAE control.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in tech with governance experience, strong budgeting and vendor management, and executive communication for cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years in technology, with 5+ years leading multi-team delivery organizations
• Deep claims domain knowledge across the full claim lifecycle
• Proven track record delivering AI, machine learning or intelligent automation in a production business setting
• Strong budgeting, portfolio management and vendor management skills
• Executive-level communication and ability to influence stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Strategy and leadership: align multi-year Claims technology roadmap with business strategy and IT standards
• Claims platform ownership: manage Guidewire ClaimCenter platform configurations and integrations
• AI and automation: lead AI solutions for FNOL, document intake, fraud signals, and agent copilots
• Operations and governance: oversee application support, SLAs, budgets, and security/compliance
