Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. seeks a Director of Category Management to lead strategy and execution for assigned bakery categories.

You will align assortment, pricing, and shelf placement with company goals and work closely with sales, marketing, and finance to drive growth. You will guide category managers using syndicated data and shopper insights, building strong relationships with retail partners and leading a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute plans for assigned categories within company strategy, integrating recommendations for assortment, pricing, promotions, distribution, and shelf placement.
• Market Analysis & Insights: Guide category managers using syndicated data and market research to assess size, growth drivers, and unmet needs.
• Retailer Collaboration: Manage category relationships with retail partners, supporting joint business planning and recommendations for shelf and promotional improvements.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and develop category managers.
• Pricing & Promotion Strategy: Collaborate with Revenue Growth Management to develop data-driven pricing and promotions and evaluate results.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate category initiatives with sales, marketing, supply chain, product development, and finance.
