Job summary

Lake Erie College seeks a Center Director for Academic and Student Engagement to lead career services and employer relations. The role focuses on building internships, job placements, and non-degreed credentials while aligning with the college’s workforce initiatives.

The successful candidate will provide individualized student counseling, coordinate career events, and report outcomes to leadership. Evening or weekend hours may be required for workshops and events.

Qualifications

• Strong student service orientation and a student-centered mindset.
• Professional interaction with students, faculty, and staff.
• Experience in higher education or academic support is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relationships with local, regional, and national employers to create internships and job opportunities.
• Builds non-degreed program offerings including certificates, micro-credentials, and workshops.
• Provides individualized and group career counseling to students and assists with resumes, cover letters, and interview prep.
• Organizes workshops on resume writing, networking, interviewing, and job search strategies.
• Coordinates career fairs, employer information sessions, and networking events.
• Tracks and reports on employment outcomes for graduates.
• Collaborates with alumni relations to engage graduates in career development initiatives.
