West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech) is seeking a Director of Career & Professional Development to guide students in career planning and graduate-school preparation. You will advise individuals and groups, collaborate with the Student Success Center, and coordinate career readiness events.

The role emphasizes building relationships with employers, alumni, and faculty, and developing tools to enhance student outcomes and program effectiveness across WVU Tech.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of directly related experience.
• Experience in career services, student affairs, human resources, or higher education preferred.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Advise students on major/career exploration and planning, resume/cover letter development, interview skills, and graduate school preparation.
• Collaborate with the Student Success Center to provide major/career advising to incoming students.
• Interpret career assessment results and facilitate group sessions for new students.
• Provide expertise on career exploration tools and resources (VitaNavis, Handshake, LinkedIn, etc.).
• Create marketing materials and promote to students, alumni, and faculty/staff.
• Develop and implement career readiness events and programs.
