Job summary

WVJC seeks a Career Management Director to lead placement initiatives, support students and alumni, and foster employer relations. The role emphasizes program outcomes, teaching elements, and community engagement to advance student success.

You will coordinate with faculty and leadership, oversee survey and event functions, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards while handling administrative tasks to support ongoing program development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse groups including students, faculty, staff, external partners, employers and community.
• Demonstration of technical proficiency and commitment to student success.

Responsibilities

• Achieve programmatic and institutional placement rate goals for online programs.
• Assist alumni with career growth and development.
• Promote networking through social media and the institution’s website for students and alumni.
• Assist current students with part-time employment while in school.
• Instruct courses every six weeks on career preparation topics including documents, interviewing, job seeking, and professionalism.
• Conduct and manage surveys for students, externs, graduates and employers for programmatic improvement.
• Build and maintain strong community and employer relationships to support student employment and program growth.
• Plan and implement graduation ceremonies and career fairs; engage with students to assess needs and provide support.
• Coordinate with faculty and program leadership to monitor progress and provide resources.
• Maintain accreditation documentation and assist in reports to regulatory bodies and management.
