Job summary

Capital One's Experience Design organization seeks a Product Design Director to lead the Card Servicing & Support Platform Design team, shaping strategy for high-complexity internal platforms that power servicing experiences for agents and customers.

You will mentor a cross-disciplinary team, define design strategy, and collaborate with research, product and tech leadership to transform backend complexity into intuitive, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in product design role.
• At least 3 years of experience leading design teams.
• Experience leading product design teams across UX and UI, strategy, content and research from strategy through delivery to market.
• Experience partnering with product managers, engineers, marketing and analytics leaders across multiple business lines to shape strategy, OKRs, roadmaps and operating models.
• Experience working within a design system.
• Proficiency with web and mobile technologies and platforms, navigating technology considerations and constraints.
• Expertise with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Navigate nascent domains by defining design strategy for high-priority emerging business areas.
• Lead the design of sophisticated internal platforms focusing on workflows, governance, and scalable design foundations.
• Standardize complexity by enabling high-integrity, repeatable experiences across a portfolio of internal platforms.
• Lead through making by prototyping, visualizing complex workflows, and building real experiences.
• Influence through education by teaching design value to partners and technical stakeholders.
