Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Sr. Manager to lead the Capacity Engineering team, owning 12–18 month strategy, capacity forecasting, and data-driven infrastructure management across compute and GPU resources.

You will partner with Infrastructure, SRE, Finance, product and cloud providers to drive cost-efficient, reliable capacity decisions and mentor senior technical leaders while using AI to accelerate analyses and workflows. In-office collaboration occurs 1–2 times per quarter.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Experience leading teams that build/operate large-scale cloud infrastructure or distributed systems
• Experience defining a 12–18 month strategy tied to goals and delivering through senior technical leaders

Responsibilities

• Lead the Capacity Engineering team with a 12–18 month strategy, roadmap and success metrics
• Develop CPU/GPU forecasts and supply plans considering workload, cost and reliability
• Guide capacity requests, reservations, entitlements and infrastructure-data systems
• Improve utilization across Kubernetes-based shared compute platforms, GPU infra and cloud environments
• Establish metrics and operating practices for capacity risk, cost and health
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, SRE, Finance, product and cloud providers on capacity decisions
• Plan team structure, hire senior talent and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture
• Leverage AI to accelerate capacity analysis and workflows with rigorous verification
