Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Sr. Manager to lead the Capacity Engineering team responsible for ensuring scalable, reliable and cost-aware cloud infrastructure.

You will guide forecasts, capacity requests and data systems across compute and GPU resources, while collaborating with Finance, SRE and product teams. You’ll recruit senior talent, shape the long-term strategy and drive AI-assisted workflows with a focus on quality and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Experience leading large-scale cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, compute platforms or capacity-management systems.
• Experience defining 12–18 month functional and technical strategies with measurable results.
• Public-cloud infrastructure and highly available distributed systems experience.
• Experience communicating availability, cost and capacity tradeoffs to engineering, finance, SRE and cloud-provider stakeholders.
• Proven ability to use AI to speed up workflows and ensure quality with verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead Capacity Engineering team strategy, roadmap and success metrics.
• Develop CPU/GPU forecasts and supply plans considering workload and costs.
• Design capacity requests, reservations, entitlements and data systems.
• Improve utilization across Kubernetes-based compute platforms and cloud envs.
• Establish metrics for capacity risk, cost, savings and system health.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide capacity investments.
• Plan team structure, recruit senior talent and foster inclusion and accountability.
• Apply AI to accelerate capacity analysis with judgment and verification.
